Love, instantly!

Overview
'Love, instantly!' is a movement film, portraying the phenomenon of kitsch in an experimental way - exploring kitsch aesthetics, as well as its complex application to, and an adaptation by socio-political and religious spheres.
Cheap objects on display
Imitation, pretence, and phony feelings
Nostalgia, sentiment, and safety
Routines, clichés, and hierarchy of taste
Fantasies, nightmares, and archetypes creating political kitsch
God’s country, class division, and cultural elites
It is a marching propaganda.
A Kinkade's Christmas Cottage.
'Love, instantly!' is a project created in collaboration with 15 dance artists, and 1 sound and video artist based in Aotearoa, Slovenia and Australia. It is my first short (15 minutes) movement film that I have directed, co-filmed, and edited. An extensive theoretical research served as a source for creating tasks and methods to form tools for movement, sound and visual experimentation.
This project has allowed me to reach new spheres of my artistic practice, exploring new ideas in a safe and collaborative space, helping me expand my knowledge and strengthen my skills in videography.
The film will be screened at the end of this year in New Zealand and Slovenia (and will be submitted to screendance festivals/shown in different venues in 2021). A live variation of this project will be presented in Auckland in December, as a part of Experimental Dance Week Aotearoa 2020.
I have created this Boosted Campaign, because this current pandemic is acting as a big challenge for the project’s fulfillment of its potentialities, and payment of artists’ work. As a non-resident of Aotearoa, I am not eligible to apply for funding in this country, therefore I must seek and find other means of financial support in order to pay performers and collaborators of this project, and cover expenses that come with the creative process and production.
The money you donate will therefore be of outmost value and appreciation for everyone involved in the project. Your financial help, and support of this work really makes a difference and means a lot!
