OUR VISION
Tagata Mai Saute Academy believes positive cultural identity can uplift and enhance the well being and instill a sense of belonging for our pasifika people. This academy allows us to connect with pasifika communities and serve our pasifika people through language, storytelling, song and dance.
Our motto “E lē tu fa’amauga se tagata” simply means that no one stands alone as an island. We must work together as a community to uplift our culture
“ By uplifting our culture, we uplift our well-being.”
LOTA NU’U
A story written and directed by Albany Heperona Seumanutafa Peseta. His own story in fact. Based on real life people and true events, Lota Nu’u is a story about a young man who went through adversity to understand his true purpose and calling in life. Events that have happened through his life all cleverly weaved into this exciting new production. Culture and traditions vs Family and lifestyle. The sacrifice of a Father, the love of a mother the care of a sister, the bond with a brother. You will see it all. One man's life, his story. Welcome to Lota Nu’u
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We have been given an amazing opportunity to take our production “LOTA NU’U” to Auckland in December. This comes after the success of the 2 Christchurch shows in September. From the 97 in the production, we have rallied a team of 30 to prepare to represent the city of Christchurch and the culture of Samoa in the city of sails.
We are seeking some additional assistance to cover costs of flights, accommodation and travel. We don’t take this opportunity lightly as an academy and super excited and humbled for the occasion to represent Christchurch in Auckland and the heart of the Pacific, South Auckland. Your continuous support and love towards our academy never goes unnoticed and we appreciate everyone who has helped along the way. YOU ARE THE REASON we are able to do what we do.
Fa’afetai mo le alofa ma le agaga lelei.
