Overview
Boost Objectspace and Caroline Billing of The National as we create the ultimate Living Room filled with work by Canterbury makers.
The exhibition Living Room is coming to Objectspace’s Ōtautahi satellite at Sir Miles Warren Gallery. Situated within the modernist haven that is Sir Miles' extraordinary gallery at 65 Cambridge Terrace, this exhibition and surrounding events will be free and open to visit for all.
Existing somewhere between a living room, stage set, and design-fair-display, Living Room draws on our personal and cultural associations with the objects and architecture of daily life — sharing what the design we live with says about who we are, what we do, and what we care about.
If you care about design, we invite you to support the commissioning of 10 new works by artists, craftspeople and designers for this exhibition.
Your donation will directly fund 10 artist fees, with a focus on commissioning Canterbury Waitaha artists, for what will be the most ambitious project in the 2023 calendar for the Sir Miles Warren Gallery. You’ll be the first to see the exhibition you’ve made possible at the show’s opening celebration in November and raise a glass with your fellow design lovers.
Who we are: Objectspace is the leading public gallery in Aotearoa dedicated to the fields of craft, design and architecture reaching 20,000 visitors annually. Throughout 2023 Objectspace is presenting exhibitions at the Sir Miles Warren Gallery at 65 Cambridge Terrace in Ōtautahi. Led by Caroline Billing, The National is the only dealer gallery in Aotearoa dedicated to Contemporary jewellery and object-based artforms.
