Killer App

Overview
The Wellington members of Exit New Zealand, an end-of-life choice organisation, meet several times a year and, over cups of tea and pot-luck snacks, discuss the latest developments in the world of voluntary euthanasia.
Killer App is a Loading Docs documentary that will go behind the contemporary debate - should voluntary euthanasia be legal? - and show how the lively, independent-minded people of Exit are responding to the current legal situation.
Groups such as Exit exist the world over in countries where euthanasia is illegal. For people who are terminally ill, or suffer from a degenerative illness, or are just getting older and want the reassurance of knowing that they have some control over how and when they die, the group provides sanctuary and community; it is a place where information is exchanged freely without judgement. Exit members give each other much-needed emotional support and laughter in a uniquely social environment while sharing their own 'exit plans'.
The Loading Docs' theme for 2015 is connection and we will see members' connections with each other and, by extension, all of us: How would we feel in their situation, and what are our hopes and fears around our own mortality?
