Our cat bankrupted the band

Overview
PETER is the pet/adopted son of Jam Henderson singer/songwriter Sam Elliott.
Late last year Big Pete had a medical emergency when he developed some pretty serious bladder problems. After a week in and out of the emergency vet Pete was back to his feet, but it took all of Sam's money to get him there. Now, jam henderson's debut album has been recorded, but we can't finish it because there is no more $$ left in the kete thanks to our kitty.
WHO THE HELL IS JAM HENDERSON?!
jam henderson is the musical project of Sam Elliott, initially started in his Dunedin flat in 2019, the project went on to become a well known indie band in the Otago student scene. The band released a debut EP jam, after the success of singles 'it's been a while' and 'rainbow'. The band notoriously had four failed attempts at playing Otago's 'Pint Night' over the space of a year, all cancelled due to covid-19.
In 2021 Sam moved to Christchurch, where he has since been joined by original band-member Logan and new additions Will and Jono. In 2022, jam released braincleaning, the band's second EP which further established their autumn rock sound. Last year saw the band took on a nationwide tour, along with friends L. Hotel - with 2023 culminating in a nomination for Te Tōtahi Toa - Favourite Single at the Student Radio Network Awards for their release new walls.
A BIT ABOUT OUT ALBUM:
The album was recorded late last year at Roundhead Studios in Tāmaki Makaurau with audio wizard De Stevens. Sam, Logan, Will, and Jono flew up north for an intense week where De took the jam henderson sound to a new level. He challenged the band to push their arrangements further than they had before. The result: an evolved, mature album that moves the jam henderson sound you love forward yet another step.
HOW YOU CAN HELP!
Helping is simple! You can help by donating what you can to this project - any donations are hugely appreciated. You can also share the link on whichever social media platform takes your fancy! Even if we have 200 people donate $25 each, then we'd be away!
WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?
So, we've recorded everything. What we have right now is a big folder filled with hundreds of raw audio files that we need to transform into a slick mixed and mastered album! The money is going towards:
- Mixing: reaching our target would allow us to pay De Stevens to mix all of the tracks, helping us realise the vision we've shared with him for the project since last year.
- Mastering: a professional master is what will get our tunes ready for streaming platforms and radio airplay. It's the crucial last step in finishing these tracks we love.
- Distribution: it's what delivers the tunes from us to you, getting them into your ears on streaming platforms or on your favourite radio station.
Thanks for helping us avoid Cat-astrophy.
