Inspiring Creativity for Schools

The Project
What is Jarratts?
Jarratts is a programme to inspire creative thinkers that have the confidence to change their world.
We believe Creativity is not an optional part of kids education. It's crucial to their development! With over 10 years experience and expertise developing award winning creative projects we are now confronting the issue that every child deserves daily creative inspiration within school.
How Jarratts works?
Jarratts is creative learning programme for schools based around a child's own interests and delivered through a mix of online HD tuition, hands on learning, supporting material, printable resources, meaningful projects, curriculum links, parent participation and personalised certificates. Professional development is provided for all teachers so they can follow our philosophy of high expectations, uber fun, individual creativity and a super positive environment.
Developed by leading educators we have listened to the needs and wants of children, parents and teachers to develop a pioneering Arts package linked to the whole curriculum. Visit www.createandeducate.org.nz for more information.
Why is Jarratts a must for schools?
Constraints on the curriculum have meant the Arts have been downgraded to extra curricular and school funding allocation to the Arts has also suffered as other areas receive priority.
Our schools feedback:
"Thanks Jarratts, you are truly inspiring"- D. Lawler - DP Makauri School
"The kids love it and I love it too!" - S. McVey DP Wainui Beach School
"We learnt together from each other" - J. McDonald DP
Why Jarratts need You?
Readers of last months NZ Life & Leisure magazine will be able to read about our 8 page feature story. They called us "Dreamweavers, finding the gift in every child". We are a small husband and wife team based in Gisborne behind all this, BUT we now need the help of our biggest asset, YOU!
We are asking for your help to get behind us, pledge and be our voice. We need you to share this link with as many Gizzy families, associates, friends and organisations as possible and help it spread like wild fire!!!
Our dream is to make Gisborne the most creative place on the planet and it starts with our kids. If our schools can adopt more creativity in the classroom then this will snowball into wonderful things.
What can you do to help?
We are launching the programme through the charitable trust 'Boosted.org' which is run by the NZ Arts Foundation and helps get needed projects off the ground. Our commitment is that we can provide the package to Gisborne Primary & Intermediate schools for just $10 per student per year. That's it, just $10! There is no specific funding for creative pursuits in schools so we need to make this happen as a community. Anyone can pledge $10 or more to sponsor students or classes or a school to undertake the programme. All donations are 33% tax deductible. It's important to note that Boosted is an 'all or nothing' crowdfunding model. If we don't hit 100% of our funding by the closing date, all funds that have been received are automatically returned to donors"
The more people we can get to pledge $10 or more the closer we become to fuelling the creativity of all our local kids .
