Hippolytus Veiled

The Project
Love, lust and lies. Nobody did it better than the Greeks.
When Phaedra, Queen of Athens, falls madly and desperately in love with her stepson Hippolytus, tragedy is inevitable.
Award-winning playwright Nathan Joe takes on the lost version of Euripides' Hippolytus Veiled and reimagines it for modern audiences. A world premiere at The Basement Theatre from August 16-20. Co-winner of the Playmarket b425 award in 2015. The judges described the play as "ambitious, dynamic, hilarious and frightening all at once."
This upcoming season stars a talented team of emerging and established performers including Fiona Mogridge (Shortland Street, Seed), Paul Trimmer (Love and Information, The Tempest), Mark Oughton (Pericles, The Rover), Jacqui Whall (Henry V, A Midsummer Night's Dream) and Geoff Allen (Lord of the Rings). Directed by Patrick Graham, local Shakespearean actor and founder of Theatrewhack.
All donations from the Boosted community will go towards paying the actors for their time, energy and committment through the rehearsal process and performance season.
