HELP US MAKE THE MOST OF SXSW

To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2020, with a micro budget and help from some friends and whānau, we created an experimental music video / short film for Rewi's band KIKO and their waiata KA PUTA.

Fast forward 18 months, and the project has been accepted into one of the world's biggest film and music festivals, South by Southwest in Texas, where it will compete in the music video competition!

We're totally stoked to be selected and invited, however we have sadly been declined a travel grant to get over there in person... This is where we need your help.

We want to get at least one of us to SXSW to make the most of the opportunity to broaden our film and music making horizons. Between us we have a variety of projects to pitch, and there are opportunities to be mentored by seasoned pros and take part in cutting edge technology workshops to help us up our our game.

We have savings to pay for a return flight, but accommodation around the time of the event is crazy expensive. Putting up one person in a nearby hotel is more than the budget of making the film in the first place!

Help us get to Texas. 

Anything you can chuck in will go towards accommodation, but will also help cover other expenses like travel insurance, food, pitching materials, networking coffees, pre departure PCR test, ESTA visa waiver etc.
