Thank you for your on-going support of the Isaac Theatre Royal. We are delighted to be at level 1 and to have raised the amount of funds we have so far.

With only 4 days to go on our Boosted campaign, every dollar raised helps the Isaac Theatre Royal navigate its way through the challenges that COVID-19 has presented.

This is particularly important in the wake of the recent cancellation of our major September musical theatre season.

Moving forward, we are looking to rebuild from the effects of COVID-19. We continue to work on a number of strategies which include; curating events in the current climate, reducing expenditure, fundraising as well as working on future events now that we are at level 1. 

We have started our venue tours on select dates (check the website for details) along with opening the stalls foyer as a café. We are looking to do a Drive-in Cinema (early July), smaller Gloucester Room events, Films in the theatre (June - August), promoting local artists through Christchurch Unearthed music gigs, Best of Musical Theatre productions, organising workshops and training courses which are currently taking place. We are also working with our promoters behind the scenes rescheduling as many events as possible and booking new events when we can.

Given the fluidity of the situation and the uncertainty that we have endured over the last couple of months, we continue to monitor and adjust our plans accordingly.

We are mindful that our campaign reflects the strong support for all cultural arts in the face of an unprecedented crisis. Achieving an outstanding result will help us not only survive, but it will help us become more sustainable in the post COVID-19 world.

We continue to extend our solidarity to everyone effected during this crisis and remain positive about the future as we prepare to welcome our patrons and supporters back to the Isaac Theatre Royal.

On behalf of everyone at the Isaac Theatre Royal we would like to say thank you so much for your support.

We are absolutely thrilled to have exceeded our boosted fundraising target. This would not have been possible without your generosity.

We can’t wait to continue to provide you with unforgettable experiences at your beautiful venue. One of the most spectacular and prestigious theatres in Australasia.

Moving forward, we will be announcing more events at the Isaac Theatre Royal. We have films in July, music events, drama workshops and the Cat in the Hat in July. The Royal New Zealand Ballet will be back in August, which we are really looking forward to!

We will also be introducing Isaac Theatre Royal memberships, attracting more functions, hosting more shows and promoting sponsorship opportunities including ‘name a seat’ and delivering you unforgettable experiences.
