Help Nina study in London
Nina Noble | Music
Overview
Kia ora e te whānau. My name is Nina Noble and I’m a trumpeter from Ōtautahi | Christchurch
I am privileged to have been offered a position in the highly regarded Master of Performance degree programme at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. I am so grateful for the opportunity to pursue my studies at the top ranked university for music in the world, and am looking forward to experiencing life in London as a music student and immersing myself in the cultural environment that the UK offers.
I am currently fundraising for the first year of my tuition fees and accommodation at the Victoria League Student House. The Royal College is supporting me with a tuition scholarship of £12,500 per year for the duration of my two year Master’s degree. Scholarships to the RCM are highly competitive and are awarded based on the quality of an entrance audition to the College. Unfortunately there is still a large shortfall in the amount of money I need to be able to take up this incredible opportunity.
About me
Originally from Christchurch, I moved to Wellington to study at the New Zealand School of Music. In July of 2024 I will be graduating from Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington with a Bmus(Hons) in Classical Performance and a conjoint BA in Education & Psychology.
I have received numerous scholarships and awards during my undergraduate studies, including Best Chamber Ensemble Performance Award (2022 & 2023), Highest GPA Entering Honours in Bmus, and inclusion on the Dean’s list for Academic Excellence (2021 & 2022). During my time in Wellington, I have gained experience performing with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Wellington, CSO, the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, Wellington Brass Band, Other Futures Jazz Orchestra and many other ensembles.
This year, I have performed as a soloist with the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, and will be featured as Principal Trumpet of the National Youth Orchestra in July. I have connected with so many fantastic people; inspirational teachers, musicians and arts supporters around New Zealand. I am particularly driven to achieve equity across the board of music education, improving accessibility of orchestral music in Aotearoa.
Why London?
London is home to some of the finest orchestras in the world as well as the top level of brass chamber music. At the Royal College, I will be under the tutelage of Amos Miller (Head of Brass), Kate Moore (BBC Concert Orchestra), and Jason Evans (Philharmonia Orchestra). The Royal College is also home to a number of guest lecturers, including Prince Consort Professor Håkan Hardenberger. The College offers a wide range of playing opportunities as well as an incredibly competitive learning environment, and I am so excited to take this next step and learn from some of the best tutors in the world. I have fully funded my undergraduate study through scholarships and part-time work as a musician and cleaner, and am absolutely determined to carve out a career in London no matter what it takes.
How will your support make a difference?
- All funds raised from this campaign will be put towards tuition and accommodation fees for the first year of my Masters
- Boosted takes 10% of these funds as commission, and I also will only receive the funds raised if we reach the funding target of $15,000!
- I have also secured an entrance scholarship which covers nearly 50% of the tuition fees, but am still working hard to make up the rest of these fees
I am hugely grateful to Roderick and Gillian Deane for their continued support of my studies, and without whom I would not have pursued a career in music. Thanks also to the Royal College of Music for their support thus far, and my whānau who have been a constant source of positivity and encouragement!
If you are not in a position to donate funds, I would also hugely appreciate your support in spreading the word about my fundraising campaign! You can also get in touch with me via the email or phone number below, I would love to hear from you!

Project Updates
We made it!
Thanks so much to everyone who donated - we have absolutely smashed the target and I couldn't be more grateful. I wouldn't be able to study without the generosity of so many individuals. A massive thanks to all of the friends, whānau, and strangers who have supported me across this whole journey.
Thanks also to those who came along or performed in my fundraising concert, this was such a special evening and I was glad to share it with so many smiling faces (if you couldn't be there but would like to watch a bit of the concert, flick me an email and I will send you the recording).
Lots of love and will let you know when I land in London!
