Help keep our creative boat afloat
South Taranaki Creative Space | Visual Art
Overview
Our story
The South Taranaki Creative Space moved to our new fabulous location in October of last year and reopened for our first term at the beginning of this year, warming to our new space, new students, and making contacts within our wider community, we also officially joined the national creative space network via arts access Aotearoa. We were making plans. Then Covid-19 came along to shut things down – stink! So, our creative space has been without income for the last few weeks. With our crowdfunding campaign, we are hoping to get back to were we where financially pre-Covid-19.
Our goal is $1100.00 which includes ten per cent for the Boosted team. If our goal is met the nice people at the Arts foundation will chip in another $1000...great eh!
While our campaign is running we will be posting some great kids art made during a somewhat shortened 1st term on our Facebook page, it's a celebration of kids art creativity check it out, kids art rocks!
The South Taranaki Creative Space is a not for profit community-focused creative hub, providing a welcoming space for people to meet, interact, learn new creative skills and network with other creative people. Income for our creative space is received from student fees from kids art classes, and adults art class and koha from community groups utilizing the space. Being not for profit, we keep our fees low so everyone can have access to creative play.
We offer subsidized fees to low-income families or anyone else that may need a helping hand to be included. Income fluctuates monthly been dependent on numbers and attendance, and the bulk of our income is spent on operational costs and materials. We are seeking support for a sustainable future to meet continued growth and realize the potential development of a South Taranaki creative space.
So please, help us keep our creative boat afloat so that we can move forward with our goal to provide South Taranaki with an inclusive community creative space post-Covid 19.
