HAUSDOWN Development Season
Inconceivable Productions | Theatre
The Project
Inconceivable Productions (The Princess and The Knight, 2022) introduce you to their new show, HAUSDOWN.
As a company, we have a core focus on queer joy, making theatre to share this joy with our community and beyond. Inconceivable Productions aims to create an entirely new play inspired by the underlying queer extravagance in Regency period dramas. This 60-minute comedic reclamation of beloved regency stories aims to bring representation and entertainment for the emerging queer generation, and established fanbase. We love this genre, the silly eccentricities of the era, the vibrant world they inhabit, and the potent romance. Extravaganza darling!
“It is common knowledge among the ton that those invited to summer at the country estate of Hausdown, will encounter a season of honeyed hospitality, diverting company, and queer delights. Sibling's and hosts, Lord Edwin Hausdown and Lady Louisa Hausdown, have this year invited several of their most beloved, amusing, (and eligible) companions to take the COUNTRY AIR! The guest list includes their cousins, Lord Edward Lapthorn and Captain August Lapthorn, the Duke and Dukess of C**tcliffe. Louisa’s childhood friend Lady Beatrice Swoonsworth, Baroness of Delusiomont, whose many engagements usually keep her from attending. And finally, the unentitled but nonetheless well-connected Harriet and Susan Girthshire, the former having been befriended by Edwin at the races and the latter engaged to act as a chaperone for Louisa and Edward.
This party finds itself in a comedy of bemuddled hearts. Will the country air be enough to untangle these lovelorn gentlefolk?”

Why We Need Your Financial Support
HAUSDOWN will be held at BATS Theatre from the 29th of November to the 2nd of December 2023. We are asking for $1,500 to fund our ambitious costume and set. Your donation will help our budget to pay for our production costs, to ensure our ticket sales go directly into our artists pockets.
Naturally, with a regency piece there are historical (and queer extravaganza) requirements to transport our audience into the era. Sourcing funding as an emerging company is difficult in the current climate, any donation big or small would be hugely appreciated by this young group of artists.
