Happy Campers

The Project
What better way to rekindle the love than with a… camping trip? ‘Happy Campers’ is an hour long comedy thriller play debuting in the NZFringe festival for 2024.
‘Happy Campers’ follows a young married couple as they have a romantic getaway to the bush to try spark passion back into their relationship. However, sleeping on the ground was not what Leah was expecting on her promised trip. Hoping for some alone time, they soon find themselves rudely interrupted by a veteran hiker. Who is almost a little too willing to lend a hand in need.
They find they can never get the privacy they both desire at this seemingly crowded site, and all of Kyle’s plans go out the window.
This is The Awkward Company’s 3rd devised show and their fourth produced show to be in the Fringe. Their other notable works include; ‘Nailed It!- a builder play’, and ‘Death & Cereal’.
