Overview
Handel's Messiah, a beloved Christmas tradition, resonates with the hearts of music enthusiasts worldwide.
This masterpiece weaves the Christmas story into captivating arias and choruses, with the Hallelujah chorus standing as an iconic testament to its brilliance. In Tauranga, Scholars Baroque and NZBarok, experts in Baroque music, have cherished this tradition for years. Now, we would like to extend this enchanting performance to Mount Maunganui and Waihī, but we can't do it without your support.
This year's performances promise to be exceptional, with an incredible lineup of soloists lending their voices to the iconic composition. Audiences can expect to be transported by the ethereal notes of Australian soprano Greta Claringbould, the mesmerising countertenor sound of Coco Diaz, the clear and strong tenor performance by Jeandré Le Roux, and the resonant bass of James Harrison. Together, with the outstanding musicians of NZBarok, the ensemble and the choir will deliver an unforgettable rendition of Handel's "Messiah".
With your generosity, we can bring the magic of Handel's Messiah to audiences. Your contribution will support the orchestra and soloists directly, ensuring that this timeless masterpiece continues to shine bright in our hearts. Join us this Christmas season in spreading the joy of classical music, and together, let's make this musical tradition a reality for Mount Maunganui and Waihī.
