Get our piano out of the basement

The Project
CJC Creative Jazz Club aims to grow the audience for jazz in Auckland and Aotearoa New Zealand by staging weekly concerts featuring the cream of local and New Zealand talent, in an intimate setting.
After five and a half years of continuous operation in our venue in downtown Auckland, we have to find a new home.
We don't know where we're going yet, but we're pretty hopeful we'll be able to find a great space that will let us grow. And we have a temporary venue lined up so we can continue, with no interruption for now (phew!).
Our pride and joy is our grand piano. It allows us to attract some great artists from around the country and overseas - pianos are a rarity in Auckland venues.
But, being currently located in a basement, down some twisty stairs, it's going to cost us a fair bit to move it out. Particularly as we may have to move it into storage, and then again, once we find our new spot.
And, to protect it for the future, it really needs some TLC: tuning after the move, some maintenance, a good polish, and a new cover, as the old one has had a few too many drinks spilled on it to be good for the piano anymore.
So we're looking to raise around $2000 to cover:
- 2 tricky piano moves
- tuning and maintenance
- a new piano cover
If we raise more than that (and we'd love to), we will be able to do some maintenance on our PA equipment, new mic cables etc, and hopefully get some new lighting for the new venue.
We hope you'll support us, as we continue to bring great jazz to an audience who wants to really hear it.
And if you think you might know of just the right spot in central Auckland, we'd love to hear from you too.
