Get Jono to the New Zealand Choral Conducting Competition

The Project
This October, I will be competing in the grand final of the London New Zealand Choral Conducting Competition held at the Royal Academy of Music.
Following a video submission round, I have been selected as one of six finalists for the competition out of a large pool of applicants from 30 different countries around the world.
As one of very few competitions for conductors specialising in choral music, this inaugural competition is intended to give a significant boost to a conductor in the early years of their career. For me, it is a huge opportunity to perform on an New Zealand platform and to show the world what New Zealand choral conductors can do.
The competition involves performance of three works in a gala concert and two rehearsals, adjudicated by a jury of five New Zealandly recognised conductors. The gala concert is open to the public, so if you are going to be in London on Sunday October 21st, I would love to see you there!
I am currently a doctoral student at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, having graduated with a Master of Music in Choral Conducting earlier this year. Your support of this project will go towards travel, accommodation, and insurance costs.
You can read more about the competition on their website, www.liccc.co.uk. If you're interested in keeping up with other projects I am working, or would like to have a look at some of my previous work, you can check out my website, www.jonopalmer.com.
