Funny Business
Jeanette Skarstedt | Film
The Project
Funny Business is a joyful queer short film about friendship, being a young creative trying to make a living, and prioritising the fun in life through the changes and challenges we face.
Through her best friend, her highschool crush, and a business team bonding clown workshop, Aroha must choose between her party clown passions and financial stability.
Why?
Sarah, writer/director:
"As a proud bisexual woman filmmaker, I want to make a film with LGBTQ+ representation, that is fun and whimsical. I want to feature the kind of representation I wish I had growing up, that also celebrates the importance of having fun in life, and that spreads an inspiring positive message to creatives of any age - to not just do the sensible things because the alternative is scary."
To keep making art for the sake of creating joy in our lives.
