Unlocking Knowledge: Support My Journey to the DVLS and Harmony University in America!

I am embarking on an exciting journey to further my knowledge and skills through attending the Sweet Adelines International Directors and Visual Leaders Seminar and the Barbershop Harmony Society Harmony University in America in July of this year. But I need your help to turn this dream into a reality.

Who am I?

Singing and music has been a big part of my life from the moment I was born. I discovered barbershop singing in high school, competing in the National Young Singers Competitions and my journey began there.

Now, many years later I am now the Co-Director of Nelson Bays Harmony Chorus, a 44-member-strong group who belong to Sweet Adelines International and Sweet Adelines New Zealand. Based in sunny Nelson with my fiancé, I am part of the next generation of barbershoppers in NZ and really the world. Educating myself, will help to facilitate the education of others, locally and within NZ, as well as helping secure the future of barbershop in NZ while inspiring the next generation.

Why America?

Barbershop is an American art form, with organisations, regions and affiliate organisations all over the world. We are a close-knit community, dedicated to the art of 4-part harmony A Capella singing, locking and ringing chords and finding friendship and family along the way.

America is the hub of education for barbershop, with those in the outer regions (like NZ) where attendance at these events may happen once in a lifetime if at all.

Every dollar raised brings me one step closer to seizing this opportunity for growth and development.
