Following my dream passion my life

I am very excited to start my training at The New Zealand Ballet Theatre in Melbourne under the direction of Director Damian Smith.

After 10 years of hard work and dedication, I'm about to take a significant next step in my dance training, a step that will take me closer to my ultimate goal and dream of dancing professionally.

Chilton Dance Centre has guided me in my ballet, contemporary and jazz training to this point and has prepared me well to venture out into the world beyond New Zealand and take on full-time training in Melbourne, Australia.

I am honoured to have been given this incredible opportunity. But, my commitment, hard work and passion for dance is not enough. I need money to make this happen. I need to pay to move to Australia, pay my living costs, pay my tuition fees (AU$10,000 per year) and pay for my dance gear. Did you know it costs around $150 for a pair of pointe shoes? Not only that, pointe shoes don't last long. When you're dancing full-time and in Australia's warm climate, a pair of pointe shoes may only last three to four weeks.

I am seeking enough money to start the journey. I am fundraising to meet the initial costs of my training, the 1st term fees (AU$2,500). Any extra obtained will go towards further term fees, my flight to Melbourne or a few pairs of pointe shoes.

About me

I am 15 years old and a year 11 student at Chilton St James. In year 9, I earned an Aspire and Performing Arts Scholarship that met the cost of attending such a prestigious school; subsequently, I successfully auditioned for the Chilton Ballet Academy in years 10 and 11.

I have been a New Zealand School of Dance Scholar for six years and an Associate of NZSD for three years. I was selected to have a Royal New Zealand Ballet mentor in 2017, and nominated for the Performing Arts Competitions of New Zealand (PACNZ) in 2018.

I am looking forward to this new adventure. I know that it will be challenging at times but I am ready to face it with all the energy, passion and commitment I've always given to my dancing.
