The Project
🌺
Flower of Life is a narrative music video collaboration between Sāmoan / Pākehā artist EMA I’U and filmmaker Francis Baker, supported by NZ On Air's New Music Pasifika 2022 programme.
The song is about moving past old systems which have disconnected us from nature and our ancestral power to a place of healing, collaboration and the next age of enlightenment. This story is the start of Ema's journey as an artist to exploring her culture and connecting to the strength of her Moana Gafa.
Since shooting the video with the best gear possible and a wicked team of over 25 people, we have been selected for the first ever SXSW Sydney Film Festival, a big opportunity for us to develop our careers.
However, this creates a gap in our budget.
We're stoked The Arts Foundation and Creative New Zealand have now taken us onboard the BOOSTED x MOANA 2023 vaka to help drive our work to the next level.
In order to make this partnership a success, we need support from our networks.
After 18 months of hard work to get to this point, we're now opening up to our communities to be part of the final push and help this project reach it's full potential on the world stage.
Each dollar we receive, Creative New Zealand will match up to a total of $10k to help us cover the costs of:
----------
