Flat Rat

THE FILM

At a shabby Welly flat, a prank with a wild rat goes wrong and reputation anxious George must convince his flatmates to kill the rat or face social rejection. The flatties are swept up in a heated fight that sees a friendship shattered, a rat splattered, and a broken flat pieced back together by shared guilt. 

WHY?

This film tells a silly and grim story about friendship, growing up, and social responsibility. It pokes fun at the poor state of student living and the absurd lengths social pressure can drive you to. Through the laughs, we want to make you squirm, provide a sense of perspective, and remind everybody to find joy in the rat’s nest.

We’re a group of students who are excited to create some awesome work in the last year of our degree at Massey University. By backing our project, you’ll be supporting young emerging artists and the development of Aotearoa's creative community.
