What would you do if you accidentally hit your best friends cat with your car?

That's the dilemma a group of friends Poppy, Olive, and Heather are facing, after accidentally running over their friend Jemima's cat, Mr. Meowgi. Panicked and frazzled, they brainstorm absurd ways to cover up the accident, before Jemima finds out. How far is too far, and will the girls get away with it?

Kia Ora! 'Flat Cat' is an AUT production by three third year students in their final year of Screen Production. We are so excited to be bringing this story to the screen, and eager to bring our film to life! But to do this, we need your help and support. Meet the Team behind 'Flat Cat'

Mieke

Hey! I’m Mieke and I am the writer and director of the short black comedy ‘Flat Cat’. I have been developing this film for a while now and it is a major passion project from me as it is my first professional production. Writing this film has been a lot of fun, it has allowed me to explore my creative side and really let the absurdity fly. I am super proud of the story I have created, it has everything that a great film could need, comedy, drama, tragedy, and of course, a twist! My team, crew, and I are beyond excited to see this film come to life, and your generous donations will help that become reality. Hi! My name is Chloe, and I'm the producer for 'Flat Cat'. I am so excited to be apart of this production, and am so grateful to be working alongside an insanely talented group of young creatives. This story is fun, quirky, and slightly morbid, and I can't wait to see it come to life. As the producer, I am responsible for leading Flat Cat to the end product that my team is dreaming of. Hiya! My name is Helena and I’m the cinematographer of ‘Flat Cat’. I am so excited to be working alongside Chloe and Mieke in bringing Flat Cat to life (no pun intended). This short film embodies relationships with such a quirky comedic twist, it has a piece of all of us within it. I will be responsible for the visuals of this film and I can’t wait to begin my experience shooting professionally. Huge thank you to the donors that can help us along.
