Project Updates

30%!!! From around the world!

In our first week, we've reached 30%! WOOP! Now to crack the halfway point!

We've had donations streaming in from all over! From Ōtautahi and Pōneke to Tauranga and Whakatāne! And further afield, generous contributions from London, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, Sydney, Alturas CA and, of course, New York City!

We've had lots of support and encouragement on our social media posts! Please keep it up and help us spread the word so we can reach our goal (and beyond!)

HALF WAY! Let's finish this!

We have made it to the halfway point! We need as much support as possible to make it to the end. Please share this campaign with anyone who you think will love this story and this team!

GRATITUDE <3

Kia ora all our lovely generous donors!

I just wanted to stop in for another mihi to you all! I was honestly so totally blown away by the emotional rollercoaster of the campaign that it has taken me a few weeks to recover! I connected with so many old friends, had amazing catch-ups - I loved hearing about what you have all been up to! (Street Medic in NYC! New Jobs! New Cities!) And I was really bolstered by so many messages of respect and admiration for what we are trying to do.

The fact that even though we maybe haven't been in touch recently that people have been supporting me from the sidelines really meant a lot to me and the rest of the team! Also heard some really hard stories of what people have been going through in the last few years and even the people who weren't able to donate but were fully behind us and tautoko what we are trying to do!

A quick update on where we are up to;

  • We are location scouting for the perfect location to shoot!
  • Our writer Ali has been writing a song to be performed in the film!
  • We have got some extra helpers on board to reach out for sponsorship!
  • We have cast our SOPHIE and have started contracting with all the actors agents!
  • We have been reaching out to the potential crew to get our A-team assembled!

Massive massive gratitude to you all! Thank you so much for joining us on the journey of making 'Just Kidding, I Actually Love You'

Finishing Touches!

The cut is locked! The grade is grading! The sound is mixing! It's all simmering to a fine boiled and is just on the cusp of being done!

Here we are in the ADR booth at Department of Post with the lovely lead Rhiannon McCall, writer Ali Burns and director Anna Duckworth!

PREMIERE, BABY!

Just Kidding, I Actually Love You is having it's world premiere at the 2023 Show Me Shorts Film Festival in October!

You can book tickets to see it here! We'd love to see you at the Opening Night!
