'FEVER: Return of the Ula' National Tour 2022

The Project
After a sell-out season at the 2021 Auckland Live Cabaret Festival, Fine Fatale returns in preparation for a nation-wide tour, spreading Pasi-friqa Power to the rest of the world with;
'FEVER: RETURN OF THE ULA'
Category is: Fine-extravaganza-hold-onto-your-manz-aaah! Purrr...
“A cabaret escapade from our realities to dance in the realm of our fantasies.”
WHAT & WHY
‘FEVER: Return of the Ula’ is a cultural reset that centres queer indigenous bodies. It’s a reclamation of power through our history, ‘her’story and ‘their’story, fulfilling our ancestors’ wildest dreams and beautiful nightmares.
“Lineage: it’s about something that will confirm and affirm that I belong somewhere where no one can remove me”
To some, this show will be an education, a history lesson, a cute night out with the girls, a kiki, a date night, a laugh. But for girls like us, this is more than that. It’s a reminder, a reference, a reclamation. It’s healing.
THE ASK
We hope to raise $10,000. $5,000 of that will be matched by Boosted X Moana Fund giving us a total of $15,000!
WITH YOUR SUPPORT, OUR PLAN IS TO:
- Redevelop our existing show to further engage with wider audiences especially our Trans and Queer communities beyond Auckland.
- Creating a plan around set design that is tourable but maintains the original essence of our performance that was created specifically to the design of The Civic Winter Gardens.
- With the uncertainty of global travel, we will look at reformatting our show for a potential digital outcome to be accessible to our communities worldwide.
WHO ARE WE?
Fine Fatale is a performing arts collective with the kaupapa to amplify Pasifika and Māori Trans and Queer MVPFAFF artists. With a line-up of some of Aotearoa’s multi-faceted Pasifika Trans and Queer artists from across many mediums.
Our style and swag were inspired by many Queens whose shoulders we stand on: Peter Tamasese, Phylesha Brown-Acton, Lindah Lepou, Yuki Kihara, Cindy of Samoa, Edward ‘Buckwheat’ Lupou, Siaosi Mulipola who have been excellent examples of vanguards in their fields.
THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A CAMPAIGN, IT’S MORE THAN JUST A DONATION.
ALL donations prove, not only to us but our wider communities, that we all have people who love and support us and that what we have to share is valid, timeless and important.
Whether that be skipping that morning coffee from your local coffee joint or even sacrificing that 20pc Wicked Wings bucket from KFC! We all have guilty pleasures that we can halt for a hot second and donate the money to help make things happen instead.
Support Fine Fatale, and you will be a vital part of our success, while also contributing to the engagement and uplifting of our MVPFAFF youth and Next Gen’s rising stars worldwide.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
