Overview

The third annual festival of Transitional Architecture (FESTA) will take place in Christchurch over Labour Day Weekend, 24-27th October.

This event is a collaboration between Unitec, Auckland University, and CPIT. We have come together to create city ups with reflection on this year's FESTA theme "The Future is Live". The Daze Maze is one of the 12 winning projects. Our team consists of 17 Unitec second year Bachelor of Architecture students. Our proposed idea has been selected to take part in this years FESTA.

The Daze Maze is a maze or a labyrinth that captures the essence of High Street in Christchurch and will allow spectators to relive their experience of being in the hub of Christchurch city. Our theme is to create an interactive space for everyone and allow them to perceive the past and the future by walking through the passages.

The experience is created by using black and white stenciled images of Christchurch's heritage buildings that once stood on High street. Hidden within the maze we would have classical music performers in which people would see follow the sound of their music through the maze. There is also a illustration installment dedicated to the youth and the children where they would be able to write and sketch what makes Christchurch special and unique and share their ideas for the future of their city.

Our goal is to reach $1,500 by October 24th, 2014. A simple, small donation is all that's needed. The more the support we can get will enable our project to be built for the people of Christchurch.

So, please support and donate, and share and promote our project to people you may know who would be interested in supporting this event.
