Extra Credit

Extra Credit is a dark comedy short film that follows Lana and Jenny, a pair of teenage best friends who are desperate to escape their small New Zealand town. For that, they need money. They decide to rob their local gas station, but when the robbery is interrupted, everything begins to go wrong. The pair must decide which is more important, the money or their friendship. 

ABOUT THE TEAM

"Fat Piggy Pictures" is a Production Company comprised of 8 hard working Massey University Creative Media Production students working towards their final project. We are a powerful female-led team that take great pride in our strong work ethic and creativity. Over the last 3 years, we've dedicated our time to refining our skills which we will showcase through this project.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Extra Credit is important to us, because it reflects a strong female friendship that is put to the test. Many of us have been through similar scenarios with friendships... some last, others don’t and that’s scary. We want this film to show these struggles in a comedic way with an underlying drama element that reflects the severity of the situation. The characters are willing to go to any lengths to save their friendship.

Your generous contributions to this campaign will allow us to have access to our dream location, pay our talented professional cast, reimburse travel costs, provide catering for our cast and crew during shoot dates and cover our art department and wardrobe financial requirements. 

We want people to know that it’s okay to be afraid of the unknown, but that you should always fight for what you believe in. If you get a little lost on the way, that’s okay, too. We learn from everything we do, the good and the bad and it will only strengthen our relationships.
