The Project

The Te Kuiti Art Project 'Empty Spaces' is a community project that aims to engage the local youth. We do this through large scale artworks that inform the passer-by of what Te Kuiti means to its people.

What makes this public art project unique, is that the Te Kuiti community has been invited to be involved. By sharing ideas and engaging the local youth of Te Kuiti ' Empty Spaces' aims to beautify the city centre and generate more pride in the streets. After the gathering of thoughts and ideas, our team of artists aim to complete the painting of the 3/4 large-scale walls within 2 weeks.

The Te Kuiti Art Project has been put together by Brigid Allan, who has given her time voluntarily in order to source funding and coordinate the successful completion of this community art project.

Each week, throughout the duration of our boosted campaign, the story of who the artists are, will unfold. This is to show our supporters how incredibly lucky we are to have the support from these talented and leading artists within the regions.

No amount is too small. What we need from our supporters is a final helping hand. Te Kuiti Art Project needs to gather enough funding to pay for the hireage of equipment to access the walls for the duration of the project. Are you able to help?

We wish to thank our two main key supporters - Waitomo District's Creative Communities and Resene Paint NZ , as well as some support from The Lines Company for this project.
