Proudly Asian Theatre (PAT) isn't just a theatre company — it's a testament to the resilience and creativity of Asian artists in Aotearoa. We began as a two Asian actors who recognized a void and endeavoured to fill it. Today (Feb 12th, 2024), at our 10 year anniversary, we stand proud of our achievements, creating opportunities and amplifying stories that might have otherwise remained unheard.

PAT is led by artists, driven by passion and vision. We're driven hustlers. But we need better resources to thrive. To truly serve our community and artists, we recognize the urgency for a stronger financial foundation. Our artists and community deserve better funding and support when engaging in PAT projects, a need that resonates even more deeply as traditional funding avenues grow scarcer and as the new government shifts away from prioritising the arts.

When artists are driven, we can make anything happen - and we’ve succeeded in staying afloat for 10 years with no operational or administrative financial support and limited business knowledge on a shoestring. But it's time to equip ourselves with new skills, tools, and strategies—essential elements to ensure PAT's long-term sustainability on the business front.
