elsie is alone.

The Project
19-year-old Elsie is dealing with pervasive loneliness as she navigates her transition into adulthood. Choosing against going to university and without any close friendships, she finds herself in a rut while watching others her age thrive. This, coupled with a fraught relationship with her sometimes overbearing mother sees Elsie growing increasingly pessimistic about her direction in life.
Things start to look up when Elsie finally connects with a group of friends. Is this what she needed to heal her aching heart?
Or is everything a bit too good to be true?
ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM
Charlotte
I am Charlotte and I am the writer/director of 'elsie is alone'. This short film is extremely close to my heart as my first professional production. Writing this film has been an emotional and raw journey so far and I cannot wait to bring it to life on a screen with my wonderful team and crew. Elsie is a character that I believe all young people can relate to in some sense and I am eager to get her up on a screen. Your generous donations will enable us to produce something beautiful. Elsie is the combination of all of us. Not just Harriette, Zak, and I, but our whole crew, support, and all of you, incredible donors. Thank you.
Harriette
Hello! I’m Harriette, the producer for ‘elsie is alone.’ I’m stoked to be on board this project working alongside Charlotte & Zak, two very talented individuals. Like Charlotte, I see pieces of myself in Elsie and as such am keen to bring her story to the screen. Producing is something I’m passionate about - so I’m super grateful to launch my producing career with this emotional, slightly morbid but oddly relatable story! Thank you for your donations.
Zak
Hi! I'm Zak and I'm the cinematographer for ‘elsie is alone.’ I'm going to be responsible for the look of the film and am very excited to get stuck into production.
