Debut Short Film Trio

OVERVIEW 🍋

Lemon Time Studios, founded by passionate filmmakers Promise and Zoe, is dedicated to creating thought-provoking and emotionally resonant films. We are in the processing of editing three unique short films that explore a range of compelling themes, from existential conversations to darkly comedic narratives. Our mission is to continue producing impactful stories, but we need your support to make this happen.

OUR FILMS

• Film 1: A young man, recently kicked out of his home, wanders the streets until he meets an older man behind a rundown restaurant. Their poignant conversation explores themes of nostalgia and hope as they laugh and pretend that everything will be okay.
• Film 2: This dark comedy navigates the complexities of an abusive relationship through a boyfriend’s jealousy over his girlfriend's pet bunny. His insecurity leads to increasingly strange and controlling behavior, culminating in a shocking climax.
• Film 3: A recent university graduate, desperate for another shot at a "big break" after a failed Film School interview, discusses purpose and the slow death of dreams with her roommate. Their thought-provoking chats are filled with iconic film throwbacks and deep reflections.

THE CHALLENGE

Promise and Zoe handle every aspect of filmmaking themselves—from casting and costume design to makeup and location scouting. This process is not only time-consuming but also costly. Despite working with talented actors to bring our stories to life, the burden of production costs remains high. We aim to replenish our funds and secure resources to continue producing quality films.

OUR GOAL

We have booked Capitol Cinema for a film festival on November 16 at 7:30 pm, where we will showcase our films. This event is a crucial opportunity for us to gain visibility and attract further support. We aspire to establish our film studio as a platform where Kiwis can passionately express their love for filmmaking.
