Corner Girls
Mia Cave | Film
Overview
Corner Girls is a character-driven short film depicting the life of a young working prostitute within 1990's Aotearoa pre-legislation. Maxine, a sex worker working the streets of Wellington, deals with the highs and lows of her profession. Throughout her working days, she meets other prostitutes and customers who help her decide her fate within the industry.
I (Mia Cave) have decided to go against the grain of my course and create a short film individually as opposed to within a group. This means I will be writing, producing, directing, editing and doing all the other creative and technical roles within the film. I am taking special precautions to ensure that this film is respectful and accurate as it is a period piece based off a sensitive topic. I will be doing interviews with relevant people who will help me develop the script respectfully. Because of all these factors, I am in need of help from anyone that can financially contribute to the production! Donations will go towards feeding my actors and other travel/prop expenses. Any donation is widely appreciated and you'll even get a cute little special thanks in the credits!!
Can't wait for you all to see the final project :)
