Overview
Support Warped Productions this NZ Fringe Festival as they present Emma Barrett’s theatrical comedy, COMMUNITY.
After its development season in 2021, Community has been rewritten and reworked into a highly polished production. But the town of Tirau need your help to make sure COMMUNITY thrives this NZ Fringe Festival.
ABOUT THE SHOW
In the quiet town of Tirau, famous for its corrugated iron, highway intersection and proximity to Hamilton, the neighbourhood committee is frantically preparing for its biggest day of the year- the Tirau Jamboree. Jo is zipping around so fast she’s breaking the sound barrier, Steve’s foot is stuck in a bucket (again), and Johann is writing yet another poem about his fear of death.
But bubbling under the surface are saucy secrets, confusion, and unsurprisingly, pain and torment. Will the committee let their differences drive them apart and jeopardize the jamboree, or will Jo and Steve and Johann pull together and save the festival? Join the meeting and find out!
WHAT YOU WILL FUND
All funding raised through Boosted with your support will go towards paying a living wage to the artist and key creatives involved in the production – The Director, Stage Manager and Performer. Production costs of Venue Hire and Rehearsal Room Hire will also be included in this.
With over 60 hours of rehearsal time and 4 performances during the NZ Fringe festival, your support will enable Warped Productions to achieve it’s kaupapa of creating accessible theatre for audiences. Established in 2017, Warped Productions is hub of all theatre warped, weird, and wonderful. It seeks to push the boundaries of expectation and see the world through a light-hearted and queer lens.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
