The Project
Project :
"Champa" is a short film that tells the story of a young Indian woman on the verge of being forced into a marriage she never agreed to. At a critical moment, a chance encounter with a mysterious piano tuner opens her eyes to a new perspective—one that could change her life forever. Through the lens of this personal story, Champa explores the silent, enduring pressures of arranged marriage that many women face. With echoes of countless unheard voices, this film aims not only to raise awareness but also to offer a glimmer of hope to those who have experienced similar struggles.
About us :
This film is being made as part of the Masters of Fine Arts (Creative Practice) Film programme at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington. Our crew are all students in MFA and Undergraduate studies.
