Chairs!

Overview
About The Show:
Bridget is stuck - she feels like she has no motivation, her life is going nowhere, and she has no idea what to do about it. Oh, she's also missing her wheels, literally. She watches as those around her wheel past and move on with their lives, and she struggles with why she can't also do that. Follow Bridget as she confronts the audience, herself, and her chair, to find her wheels and get unstuck.
CHAIRS! is a brutally honest, awkward, vulnerable, and very funny theatre show. Initially created back in November 2021, and slowly written and devised by the cast, this show is about learning to be open, learning to listen, and learning to be able to take the first step, and prioritise yourself in healing.
CHAIRS! Opens at Factory Theatre on the 2nd of November.
Why This Show:
We wanted to make a show that could also serve as a safe space for ourselves, and our audiences, to talk about some hard hitting topics, but be able to laugh at them too.
We want to be honest, be mean, be angry, be accepting, and we want to have fun. We want our audience to connect with the topic and enjoy the spectacle of the show. We want everyone to not feel so alone - we believe that talking about a struggle will help others experiencing the same thing, even if it's just creating a sense of connection.
We’re also excited about being young, emerging artists entering the industry. We want to be able to work on our voices, and our styles of storytelling, and a devised show is the perfect place to do that.
Why We Need Funding:
As with any show, there are a bunch of costs that come with being able to put this on. Some of these costs include:
- Rehearsal and performance space
- Lighting and sound technology
- Costumes and props, namely, our chairs
- Marketing - specifically, hiring the photo studio, and paying our wonderful photographer, Adrian Bennett (he/him), for his time and help with poster design
- Licensing our pre-show music
We’re also working on a profit share basis - we're making this show because we love and care about it. However, we support paying artists fairly for their work. We want to fundraise so that more of our actual profit can go straight to the amazing creatives who have dedicated their time and energy to making this wonderful show, rather than just paying off our production costs.

This means the world to us, and we're so appreciative, so thank you so much. Hopefully we see you at the show where you can come and see what you've funded ;)
