Bill Tito: The Unread Story
Shaun Swain | Film
Overview
We need your help to get this film out to film festivals both locally and internationally.
The film has been shot, edited, now we just need to get it on the big screen.
A story of an eccentric book doctor finding joy between pages, against all odds and against the world with his wife.
Humans are like books, each with their distinct covers, shapes, and sizes. But the real treasure lies in the stories within, tales that make each of us unique. And one of these exceptional stories belongs to a man named Bill Tito.
‘Bill Tito: The Unread Story’ is a feel-good documentary that celebrates the unwavering dedication of Bill Tito, a self-made 77-year-old book repair specialist with dyslexia. The film highlights Bill’s ability to discover joy and purpose in life despite his limited reading ability.
With his partner-in-crime, Jane, by his side, they form an eccentric duo, infusing every moment with laughter and charm.
Through spontaneous banter and serendipitous encounters, we embark on a journey through the pages of Bill’s life, unraveling the layers of his personality and craftsmanship.
From Director Dini Aristya:
Through this film, I want to share a story that serves as a reminder that life unfolds in its own time, surprising us with unexpected opportunities and moments of growth.
This is for late bloomers who learn resilience in the face of adversity. They don’t let setbacks define them and find alternative paths around obstacles.
These misfits, who struggled to excel in school or follow the conventional path. For those who grow at their own pace, unburdened by deadlines or societal norms.
After all, we just take the scenic route in life and discover ourselves along the way.
Like pages of a book represent the different chapters and experiences of our lives. Each page turned unveils new adventures, challenges, and lessons to be learned. We are the authors of our own lives.
We make choices, take actions, and write the story. Bill Tito: The Unread Story encourages us to find humor in our flaws, face challenges with optimism, and embrace life’s twists and turns with lightheartedness.
As Bill always says,
“DON’T DESPAIR, THINK REPAIR”
