Overview

Originally friends from Wellington, Neenah, Hannah and Trae have recently moved to Tamaki and are collaborating on Trae's very first play, Beneath Skin and Bone.

About the show:

Poto Manawa is 25, a little lost and so over her wh?nau's incessant phone calls always asking what she's doing and when she's coming home.

Despite her best efforts, the memories she tried to leave behind cloud her mind until she is drawn home. As she weaves together the strands of her past, with a little help from an unexpected guest, the secrets of her wh?nau begin to unravel around her.

Through storytelling, waiata and movement, Te Wiki sisters, Trae (25) and Tial (11) weave together stories of wh?nau, loss and whakapapa.

Beneath Skin and Bone is a new play lead by Trae Te Wiki along with collaborators, Neenah Dekkers-Reihana and Hannah Kelly.

April 18-21 7.30pm @ Te Pou Theatre (New Lynn, Auckland).

Our plan:

We're overwhelmed by the aroha we've already received after launching the news of this work in development.

After being holed away working on this show for the past few months (in the depths of the Titirangi bush), we would now like to invite you to join our journey by donating to the life of this show.

This is the start of our journey of making theatre together and although this work is in development we'd love to continue telling this story and aim to get the funds to present our story in the best way we can.

Please boost the life of this work by helping us to pay for:

Talented Auckland photographer, Andi Crown, to capture photos of the show - $250

Flyers to spread the word - $100

Production costs - $150

If we go over our Boosted target these are the things we'd also like to fund:

Travel for Trae to come in and out from the depths of the Titirangi bush - $30

Koha money for Trae to house and feed all the people coming in and out of her whare while the shows are on - $50

An extra day in the theatre space during production week - $50

Money for rehearsal/showing space - $15

Food to survive - $50

Ng? mihi nui kia koutou. Your support means the world to us.

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata!
