When forced to choose between her delinquent mother and her ex-best friend in the midst of an abortion, Bug, a hopeless young woman, must pull herself together, or prove she really is just as unreliable as she seems.

WHAT IS BEDBUGS?

When Bug takes her ex-best friend Sarah to get an abortion, the pair are forced to face their strained relationship for the first time since leaving high school. But when her mum calls needing a ride home after a late night out, Bug must decide where her loyalties lie. Can Bug do good when faced with a difficult decision or is her unreliable nature destined to fail those around her?

Bedbugs, a short dramedy written and directed by Rona Aitken and produced by Jack Harriss, unpacks how in your early twenties, caring for the people around you feels like an impossible task on top of looking after yourself. Following the stoned and emotionally avoidant Bug, the film explores the balance and contradictions between loyalty and independence. 

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?

Boosted is an ALL OR NOTHING platform. Every dollar we get is vital to the success of our project. While we get some budget as part of our master's course, the additional money raised during our boosted campaign will help with paying our cast, sourcing props and costumes, catering and transport on set, as well as festival entry fees and other distribution costs.
