Australia Generations in Jazz Tour

LOGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2019

Kia ora! We're the Big Bad Big Band from Logan Park High School, Dunedin, New Zealand. We're selected by audition and share over 50 years of JAZZ training as well as solo and group musical awards. We practice hard to achieve cohesive, professional and upbeat sets from fantastic jazz greats. We have played to appreciative audiences at the Otago Farmers Market, an official civic welcome, the iconic Port Chalmers sea food festival, and last year went on a very successful Blenheim tour.

What are we doing in 2019?
We're challenging ourselves to tour Australia next May. We'll share tunes with some Melbourne schools, attend a workshop at Monash University, see some sights, then bus to Mt Gambier for the Generations in Jazz Festival. At Mt Gambier we will meet some truly inspiring great jazz musicians, other young musicians, and attend concerts, workshops, as well as compete for prizes. We're really keen to share our sets with all who will be gathered there. We want to make this an outstanding trip for us and also for our inspiring leader and conductor, John Dodd. The 16 of us are going to learn so much from this opportunity.

Please donate and then share this campaign with your family and friends. This jazz tour is costing each of us $4,000.00. With your support, this boost will reduce the cost on our whanau and be a great kick start to our fundraising efforts, as over the next 7 months we intend to raise all the money ourselves. This long journey of anticipation will encourage us to do our best for our band and school. All donations received will go towards travel and accommodation costs.
