Who is behind the project

Jaya Mangalam Gibson created the persona Auspicious Victory as a legacy for future digital artists to thrive, speak truth to power, and empower marginalised communities.

This project will create an infrastructure that can continue to be used in the future by different digital artists who “inhabit” Auspicious Victory as a persona. 

I’m joined by Paddy Halliwell who is the project producer. 

The Project

The project will be fully accessible in-person and online and includes:

• a physical exhibition
• a livestream of the exhibition in 360˚ VR 
• a 3D virtual tour of the exhibition 
• a documentary of Auspicious Victory's story
• art available for purchase 

The Funding

We want to grow our audience and keep them engaged online, through sales, social media content and eventually an in-real-life/digital identity residency.

We need funding to: 

• Hold the first exhibition by providing resources for turning digital art into physical art
• Market the exhibition online
• Feed Paddy and Jaya while they dedicate their full time to this project
• Set up the marketing and administrative infrastructure so future artists can focus on creating digital art

The Impact

There are many people in the community who experience chronic pain and illness, who are marginalised because of background, belief or circumstances beyond their control. 

This collection of work and the ongoing project and persona gives a platform for challenging those in power. Those who continue to ignore the voices of people who don’t fit into the box of -isms our culture expects from us.
