YOU DID IT!

YOU DID IT! We are absolutely overwhelmed with your support of our campaign over the last nine days to resource queer and trans BIPOC creatives. You've raised $12,500 that will go directly into the hands of these artists to fund incredible events and initiatives.

For years, the initiatives in this campaign have been doing their mahi with little to no funding - with artists putting on events solely out of their own back pockets. Where It Matters is about creating sustainable futures for these initiatives and allowing them to fully realise their visions rather than always operating on a shoestring budget.

That’s why we are extending our goal. As well as the four initiatives and five events already attached to the Where It Matters campaign we will also be attaching another two initiatives, to be announced soon. Your continued support will increase the amount of resources going to the initiatives you've already backed, and go even further to support another two. Please help us in reaching our stretch goal of $25,000! By putting your money where it matters you will be supporting seven QTBIPOC initiatives to continue their incredible work.

Supporting more QTBIPOC creatives!

We've got two new initiatives by queer and trans BIPOC creatives that will benefit from your donations to our Where It Matters campaign!

The first is by Same Same But Black who will present an event in February as part of Black History Month and Pride. ICONS will celebrate BIPOC icons who have championed humanity and acceptance across many lines. ICONS hopes to enrich conversation and community with images of individuals who are often forgotten in mainstream history but played important roles in our history and shaping our now.

The second is by Batanai Mashingaidze, a actor and filmmaker creating Layered Mistress. The film conveys the beauty and complications that comes with being a black woman in present/past society. It’s a modern approach to owning and taking power back that looks and feels ancient. It’s unapologetic film making that doesn’t need to cater to no one's standards. It’s amplifying the voice that you were born with and projecting that shit beyond peoples comfort zone.

These initiatives will benefit from your donations to the Where It Matters campaign, as well as increased resourcing of our existing five. Please continue to share this with your friends and networks, so we can raise more money where it matters!

It Still Matters

Thank you so much for your donation and support of Auckland Pride's Where It Matters campaign! Your support has surpassed our wildest expectations and we've almost raised $20,000 for queer and trans BIPOC creatives. Thank you.

One of the seven initiatives, the Say Her Name Vogue Ball, happened on Saturday. Your support meant that a further $9,000 for Black Trans Lives was raised by those that went. Your support made the incredible space possible, and created more impact.

We now have less than 48 hours until this boosted campaign closes, please continue to share the campaign on social media (we have beaut imagery @aucklandpride) and if you can spare a few more coins then that would be greatly appreciated too. We're incredibly grateful for your support!
