Auckland Artists Network produces a variety of workshops, masterclasses and theatrical opportunities to provide artists with the necessary tools to excel in the professional arts industry.

About the Founder. 

Hi! My name is Cole Johnston.

I'm an Auckland based Actor, Singer, Dancer, Business Owner, Youth Theatre Director, Vocal Coach and Uber Driver. Like many other creatives, I enjoy having many eggs in many baskets.

I started Auckland Artists Network in 2020. I wanted a place I could go, where I could learn from the best of the best in the industry... somewhere I didn't have to commit to for 3-6 months, somewhere affordable that still provides high level training.

About Auckland Artists Network

With this project, our goal is to actively promote the Arts in Tāmaki Makaurau, as well as upcoming auditions and opportunities. We want to work with a wide variety of creatives and professionals offering workshops in theatre, film and backstage pathways.

I ran a series of workshops and masterclasses throughout 2021 with nine tutors and over 100 participants. The feedback was overwhelming – positive, inspiring and constructive.

However, striking a balance between keeping the participation fee affordable and paying the industry leading tutors what they are worth became tricky. I ended up supplementing the fees and venue hire out of my own pocket for all classes, but one.

This is where you come in!

I want to make workshop participation more affordable, pay the tutors more and create more development opportunities with overseas tutors.

The $6000 raised through this Boosted campaign will cover venue hire for the year, marketing and design costs (to employ our creative and pay them properly), and will enable is to have a strong base to pay our tutors, allowing us to keep participation fees low.
