Aspiring male ballet dancer
Shae Berney | Dance
The Project
The English New Zealand Ballet School have invited me to attend their 3-year full-time training programme in London.
I've been dancing for just three years but in recognition of my potential, they've offered me a scholarship.
Now my parents and I need to find the funds to cover:
- airfares
- accommodation,
- uniform,
- and living costs
I'm trying to do my part by working in a retail store Saturdays and Sundays and in the holidays, helping my Grandad at his business. My parents are saving (like crazy) but there's still a way to go.
I'm posting this in the hope that dance supporters and proud kiwis, may be generous enough to help me go all the way - to follow my heart, fulfil my potential and get a young New Zealand male ballet dancer up on the New Zealand stage. It would also be really great if my work inspired other New Zealand boys to get involved in the Arts and dream big.
Thanks for reading my post. Your support would mean a lot.
Dance is really everything to me.
