ARTANDREALISM.COM

The Project
ARTANDREALISM.COM is an online retail art platform, supportive artist space - and universal art brand. ARTANDREALISM.COM is purposely built for Aotearoa & Pasifika emerging visual artists.
Built on a foundational value system and fundamental ethos, the platform is the brain child and creative vision of Jacquie (Naicou) Burke – a 30 year practicing graphic & concept designer, creator, artist & startup mentor, multi-cultural visual artist & Artpreneur.
Of Fijian descent and heritage (Ucunivanua, Verata, Fiji) – Jacquie solely engineered and created the platform over 3.5 years. She originally soft-launched the website in 2022 with her own work, but paused it in 2023. Embarking on a 6 month creative mentorship programme with Toipoto/The Big Idea, she was inspired to revert back to an original 2019 thought of creating a collective artist & art space to nurture and support NZ & Pasifika emerging visual artists that fit within the realms of contemporary art, realism, diversity, culture and social change – encompassing the bigger picture of life & nature.
With the realisation that there are hundreds of undiscovered emerging visual artists around the country potentially unable to combine traditional art practices with digital technologies in order to expand audience reach and generate a viable and sustainable income – the artandrealism.com model pivoted.
Jacquie the founder, has spent the past 6 months re-developing the platform to accomodate an eager waiting list of emerging NZ & Pasifika visual artists who are ready to join the Art & Realism platform and diversify their art practice for the digital arena.
The powerful and newly designed bilingual/optional platform/website will house diverse collections of NZ & Pasifika creativity. It will be rich with creative innovation and will sell – Universal Art for Everyone™.
ABOUT THE PLATFORM
Designed to jumpstart undiscovered NZ & Pasifika emerging visual artists, every artist signed up with artandrealism.com receives their own on-line profile/shopfront/space/page/url to showcase collections of their work. The platform will offer customers, art lovers and art collectors an explorative and seamless shopping experience to purchase affordable and accessible quality made NZ & Pasifika art prints, original artwork and universal branded art products exclusively created by Art & Realism.
The platform will deliver new choices for customers to purchase art, support artists based on their own ethical value system and be inspired by undiscovered talent of Aotearoa.
Built by an artist for artists - Jacquie (she/her) is passionate about contributing to the New Zealand and Pacific arts community. She leads a fresh new perspective on creative art innovation and is highly motivated to build a sustainable creative economy for emerging visual artists by providing them with a space to be seen and heard.
The artandrealism.com model offers generous commissions that are paid to artists weekly upon sale of work, providing artists with regular cash-flow that allows them to be more productive and focus on their art practice, promoting creative wellbeing and giving them a sense of purpose.
FUNDING
Funds raised from this campaign will be used exclusively towards completing the project and launching artandrealism.com in November 2023.
Funds raised will make it possible to purchase professional studio equipment for photographing artists artwork, purchase startup software & hardware for designing and creating work for the platform, purchase video/mobile devices for remote travel to collate artist profiles, purchase app integrations and support annual hosting of the website.
Funding will also provide the platform with marketing & PR campaigns to boost the platform, generate traffic to the website and fund travel in three major cities outside of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland within the next 3 months for nationwide emerging artist scouting.
