ARTANDREALISM.COM – Universal Art for Everyone
Jacquie Burke | Visual Art
The Project
Hi, Kia ora, Bula, Mālō e lelei, Kia Orana and Talofa!
ARTANDREALISM.COM is an online retail art platform, supportive artist space and universal art brand, that after years of work and your much-appreciated support in 2023, was finally launched in March 2024.
ARTANDREALISM.COM is now six months into the commercial space. The founding artists have been recruited, and their shop fronts are activated and officially managed. Our artists can carry on with their daily lives, practice their craft and remain independent - because artandrealism.com has got them covered!
But - for us here at artandrealism.com HQ it doesn’t stop there. We are busier than ever! Over the past six months, we have streamlined the artist's application and submission process and continually upgraded, innovated, and marketed the platform. We have also been doing PR, mentoring new artists, creating, networking and advertising while building brand awareness and community.
We’re in it for the long haul and we need to continue future-proofing the platform. All of this takes time and funding and that’s why we’re here again asking for your support to get us through the next phase.
You’ll be well aware of the recession in New Zealand. The cost of living has risen tremendously and artandrealism.com still in its infancy, is not yet self-sustaining. Simply put - we need more funding to ensure this project delivers over the long term.
We need YOUR help to continue the journey.
We need YOUR help so we can continue to SUPPORT emerging visual artists from New Zealand, Pasifika and Diversity.
We want YOU to become part of our community and join the movement.
We need YOU to help us make Universal Art for Everyone ™

✜ WE NEED FUNDING NOW
We’re gunning for $10,000 but of course the more we can raise the better. Funds raised from this campaign will be used exclusively towards upgrading and innovation of the artandrealism.com platform.
This funding will make it possible to contract the specialists we urgently need NOW to achieve this.
Funding will also help support part-time contractors to help with the day-to-day running of the platform so that Jacquie Burke (founder) can continue to mentor and inspire the artists, focus on creative direction for the brand and manage the company.
✜ WE NEED TO UPGRADE & INNOVATE NOW
The goal of the artandrealism.com platform is to sell art and provide an additional income stream for our artists so they can create more work, unhindered. We need to drive more traffic to the site and our original processes need to be further streamlined and digitally upgraded.
Some of this can be done in-house, but to future-proof the platform we need to hire experts to develop these innovations. Now!
More traffic = more sales = more income for the artists = artist sustainability = artist well-being.
✜ WE NEED MORE PEOPLE POWER NOW
Recent social media campaigns are capturing the interest of new emerging visual artists around Aotearoa New Zealand and we have been inundated with interest. To keep this momentum running smoothly and for us to continue recruiting, signing up and giving our artists the attention, professional mentoring and guidance they deserve, we need assistance with the day-to-day running of the platform and our artist management.
More people power = sign up more artists = faster growth.

✜ THE BACK STORY
Built on a foundational value system and fundamental ethos, the platform is the brainchild and creative vision of Jacquie (Naicou) Burke – a 30-year practising graphic & concept designer, print production & project management, creative business mentor, emerging visual artist & Artpreneur.
Of Fijian descent and heritage (Ucunivanua, Verata, Fiji) – Jacquie solely engineered and created the platform. She originally set out on the journey to create a space for her own work, but after embarking on a creative mentorship programme with Toipoto/The Big Idea in 2023, she realised there are hundreds of undiscovered emerging visual artists around the country struggling to combine traditional art practices with digital technologies to expand audience reach and generate a viable and sustainable income. The urgency to pivot was much needed, and artandrealism.com evolved into a supportive space for artists and an online art gallery, launching in March 2024. The model, consistently evolving, accommodates a growing collective of artists from all over NZ.
Built by an artist for artists - Jacquie (she/her) is passionate about contributing to the New Zealand and Pacific arts community. She leads a fresh new perspective on creative art innovation and is highly motivated to build a sustainable creative economy for emerging visual artists by providing them with a space to be seen and heard.
✜ ABOUT THE PLATFORM
Designed to jumpstart undiscovered NZ & Pasifika emerging visual artists, every artist signed up with artandrealism.com receives their own, fully managed, online profile/shopfront/space/page/URL to showcase collections of their work. Consider this space as the artist's website, a portfolio and a collective space to present their profile and art to the world.
Through the platform, these artists also have access to mentoring, advice and valuable direction for their art practice. The platform offers customers, art lovers and art collectors an explorative and seamless shopping experience. Customers can purchase affordable, quality-made NZ art prints and original artwork, shipped for free all over NZ. Customers can discover, connect and support artists buying their art, while conscientious customers can support artists based on their ethical value system. Artists feel part of a collective and everyone is part of a community.
