Anahera - The Voice of an Angel
Shellie Hanley | Music
Overview
Kia Ora Nau Mai Haere Mai, welcome and greetings to you all,
My name is Shellie Hanley. I am a Māori harpist and composer based in Shannon, Manawatu.
You can read the recent Stuff article about me and my music here.
I was also featured on TV3’s ‘ The Project ‘, you can watch the video here.
My Story
I suffered a Brain Injury in December 2017, I lost my short term memory but gained an extraordinary ability to hear & compose music. In January 2018, a harp came into my life through the kindness of a complete stranger. Without any formal musical training, I began learning the harp under the guidance of Rod Thomas and picked it up very quickly.
I started composing music and performing concerts shortly afterwards, taking this "Gift of Music" to many places in our community, where people are suffering; I've played the harp in rest homes, hospices, psychiatric wards, dementia units and the Palmerston North neo natal ward.
My compositions stem from a near death drowning experience I had when I was a child. During my struggle under the Upper Hutt River, I heard the sound of angelic harmonies singing in infinite directions around me. That sound saved my life and brought peace and calm to me.
This Project
I now wish to record that angelic sound and create an album of angelic lullabies to soothe and calm premature babies.
You’re needed
It's my dream to bring peace and calm through my angelic music to as many premature babies as possible, around the world. Your kindness & support through donating to my BOOSTED campaign will enable me to continue my mission of bringing peace, calm and love to the premature babies around the neo natal wards of New Zealand.
I would like to say thank you for your love & support at this time. I wish you good health and well-being.
All donations will be lovingly received and appreciated, Thank You 😇 please feel free to share the link to this page with your friends, whanau, family, and networks.
God Bless You
