The Project

A Girl Called Elvis is a short film about two siblings growing closer through a family quest.

When 10 year old Ellie hears that her father is back in town, she convinces her half-sister Carol to help her reconnect with him. Together with Carol's boyfriend Dion, they set off on their journey.

A Girl Called Elvis is currently in pre-production, due to start filming mid-April. Our team is Producer Miles Wilson and Writer/Director Lindsay Christopherson. We are excited to share this story with the world, but we need your help!

We intend to pay our cast and crew industry standard rates. Once successfully funded through Boosted, the funds raised will pay for cast and crew wages, gear, locations, production design and rentals.

We have 4 shoot days that cover multiple residential locations. The crew will be a balance of experienced professionals and recent graduates, providing valuable on set experience for them, and supporting the local film industry. We will be working closely with our talent and crew to produce great results on the day.

After principal photography is completed, we will begin post production, and A Girl Called Elvis will be presented through local and international film festivals.

Please support us in this journey - you will be helping to provide paid work for NZ artists and crew, to tell the story of a New Zealand family, and to discover the influence an icon can have on the life of a little girl.

You can support us by donating, sharing this project with friends, family, and colleagues, and by sending us messages of love and encouragement.

Thank you!
