Tai Huri Films's Live Project

Mirumiru (Bubble)

Love at first sight was real for Shorty. He fell deeply in love with Lena when he saw her, a moment he will never forget. Lena and Shorty are both elderly and have lived a life filled with unforgettable moments that neither of them was supposed to forget. Now Lena is sickly, in hospital and is literally losing her memories by the hour. Her memories literally form around her head in the shape of bubbles and escape. Shorty, determined to not let a single loving memory escape, chases them down in the carpark, finds one stuck in a tree and other crazy places. He ties a rope around each and everyone and holds them tight. As Shorty continues chasing bubbles, Lena gets sicker and sicker. In Lena's last moments, Shorty needs to make a decision. Hold onto the bubbles that continue to fight him or be 'present' as his wife passes away right in front of him. So he lets the memories go as his wife passes away. After her tangi, Shorty stands in front of her headstone as a bubble forms around his own head, the memory consisting of that loving look she gave him before she passed.
