Jaime Dorner
I am a professional actor, director, and researcher - PhD in Theatre and Performance. My work possesses a strong physical component, constantly seeking to physically embody script, emotions and images on stage. My curiosity as a practitioner constantly leads me to question the craft of producing theatre, what the purpose of theatre is and how effective theatre can be. So far I believe theatre to be a trigger and a provocateur of emotional/intellectual processes.
The heart of my work is the creation of evocative and provocative images rather than a coherent lineal narrative; in this respect, collaboration with designers, filmmakers, visual artists and musicians is fundamental. The main focus of my interest is biographical material, ritual and catharsis and the way in which these concepts interrelate to affect the audience – in other words I like the idea of using my own biography and memories as a bridge to reach the audience in the particular experience that we call theatre.

Planning your content
A crowdfunding campaign needs a ton of content. For the 30 or so days of funding, you’ll be coaxing, cajoling and flirting with your crowd, asking for money, and you’ve got to come up with a fresh way to ask every day. You’ve got to keep it interesting, enticing and exciting.

Asking through email
Social media is a handy marketing tool, but you don’t own your social media community. The visibility of your posts is at the mercy of social media algorithms. In other words, just because you publish a status update, doesn’t mean people see it. Furthermore, if the gods of digital decide to fold a platform, that’s your hard-earned followers gone in a blink.
