Ella Loheni Stancil
With love and appreciation, I greet you all on this virtual space. Talofa lava, my name is Ella Tiafau Loheni Stancil, a proud Samoan and woman of the Pacific, ready to fofola my fala and share with you all the dance of my people. Fully immersed in my culture, lovingly embraced as a Tama’ita’i Samoa, I have been blessed with the opportunity to master the art of Siva Samoa. As a descendant of Taupou Talaleomalie and Taupou Lalepouli, I draw strength from them and the mana they so fiercely represent. I’m a strong advocate of preserving and protecting indigenous knowledge and cultural practices and I see this as an opportunity to do just that. This is not for me alone, but for the village that raised me and the community that surrounds me. I hope this project inspires Samoan’s living abroad to strive to learn and grow more, and embrace their aganu’u Samoa.
Ma lou fa’aaloalo lava,
Ella

Pitching to media
Remember, not everyone you ask to give will give, so even a modest crowdfunding campaign aiming to raise a few thousand dollars requires getting in front of thousands of people.
Unless you’re famous in your own right or have strong social influence, it’s unlikely you’ve got immediate access to a network of this size. Here’s where PR comes to the party.31 Aug 2024 -

Mapping your crowd
Crowdfunding is not about you. It’s about the community around what you do. Your crowd.
And there’s a difference between your audience and your crowd. Your crowd are the people personally, financially, and emotionally invested in you successfully completing your art project. They’re with you for the journey. They’re with you for your career.31 Aug 2024
