Remember, not everyone you ask to give will give, so even a modest crowdfunding campaign aiming to raise a few thousand dollars requires getting in front of thousands of people.
Unless you’re famous in your own right or have strong social influence, it’s unlikely you’ve got immediate access to a network of this size. Here’s where PR comes to the party.

A crowdfunding campaign needs a ton of content. For the 30 or so days of funding, you’ll be coaxing, cajoling and flirting with your crowd, asking for money, and you’ve got to come up with a fresh way to ask every day. You’ve got to keep it interesting, enticing and exciting.

Events can raise awareness of your campaign, raise money, reward your core crowd and create opportunities for media coverage.

But they can be time-consuming to organise, so if you can piggyback on existing events where you can make an ask, or have a supporter ask for you, even better.
